A Swedish player was initially in an offside position when the free kick was struck from Tunisia's left side, but a teammate deliberately touched the ball in the middle of the play before it reached the goal scorer. Under the Laws of the Game, this touch by the intervening teammate resets the offside assessment — it's treated as a new phase of play. From that moment onward, the goal scorer's position is measured against the defensive line as of the teammate's touch, not the original free kick. VAR properly applied this principle and confirmed the goal was legitimate.
