Making the situation worse, a second Ivory Coast player (#6, 'FOFANA') was later seen in an uncomfortably close, face-to-face confrontation with the referee during the subsequent pause in play, which itself could have warranted a yellow for dissent. The complete absence of any sanction for either incident represents a significant failure to apply the Laws.
